However each time, the ruling classes try to control the less profitable branches of industry as well, production falls behind, or a great deal is made up of undeclared work or is smuggled into the country. In this case, I would take the example of Orbán Viktor and Hungary. However, Hungary is a very small country within the European Union, even she (in English, countries are feminine) can make herself noticeable and heard within this democratic organization of democratic countries. And as we have seen for the last eleven years, Orbán Viktor made himself heard many times, especially when it was about condemning China, Turkey or Russia because of violation of human rights and so on, he always vetoed these declarations and that way has prevented a unified European foreign policy. Orbán Viktor is free to do so because no democratic country would force him to change his stupid ways of trying to get closer to China and Russia. Now, Putin has been to Hungary many times and on each occasion, he made Orbán feel that the Hungarian was inferior to the Russian. The same can be applied to personal or professional life. In a democratic society, even the weakest can make themselves noticeable and heard. In contrary, in an authoritarian chaos, the law of the strongest is the basic for all behaviour. Or should you be happy to have so much work?   For me as well, I’m busy all day long doing much exercise (pull-ups, push-ups, squats) and reading, studying. I feel a bit as if I were a wagon being put on the siding or side-track while the world continues to rotate and to circle around the sun while people have their everyday activities. The train of life runs on its rails and me, I’m sitting somewhere along those rails and events watching them hurrying from home to work and back or somewhere else. Sometimes, I have the impression being much more fortunate than all others. And as long as the owner doesn’t tell me to leave, this kind of life can go on undisturbed. Which means that I have the possibility to wait for a better occasion. Of course, one could suggest that I’m wasting my time, and this person would be right because I’m not doing enough to bring humanity forward, to teach them, to help them to build a more democratic world for their children. When I was living on my own, I could somehow stay in touch with the world via my blog and form public opinion. Now, I’m out. I often ask myself the question whether my political activities have served humanity anything. I can’t really see the result of my efforts. People seem to have learnt nothing. However, did Montesquieu (1689 - 1755) know that around 250 years after his death, Europe would live in democracy according to his advice? I suppose him having a kind of historical view that humanity was advancing, even if that advancement was going on at snail’s pace. At his time, people learned a trade from their father who had learned it from his father and they practised the same trade all their lifetime. How should those people have believed that life is advancing? However even today, there are people who think that there is nothing left to improve, even democracy.
